Four of the seven universities hosting the professorial chairs endowed by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund have received queries for defaulting in the way they have so far operated the chairs.

Although he did not disclose the names of the universities, the Executive Secretary, PTDF, Alhalji Kabir Mohammed, who spoke on Thursday in Abuja at the meeting of the Endowment’s National Board of Trustees, stated that there had been poor performance for the past six years by the chair holders.

The PTDF endowed professorial chairs in the Geology Departments of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, University of Jos and University of Maiduguri.

It also endowed a chair in Gas Engineering in the University of Port Harcourt and Petroleum Engineering in the University of Ibadan.

The fund also endowed a chair in Petroleum Engineering in the Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto and Chemical Engineering in the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
